THE YOUNG Zeeshan Siddique of Newark Youth FC has been rewarded for his outstanding progress with a Jack Petchey Award.

The youngster joined Newark in 2014 as a defender, but switched roles to become an outstanding goalkeeper. Zeeshan has since developed into a very influential and successful player, winning the league in U10s and the doubles in the U12s age groups. The coaches and managers who have worked with Zeeshan so far in his three years at Newark have all praised him for his excellent behaviour and conduct.

Zeeshan was awarded the certificate during training, and 40 young people then joined him in a celebratory meal.

Newark Coach Abul Hussain said, “He [Zeeshan] always turns to the coaches and managers with respect and this is the same for his team mates, who all look up to him and enjoy his presence during training and on match days.”
