LONGSTANDING community activist Arman Ali has been appointed the Secretary General of the Chhatak Education Trust.
On the same day, at a separate meeting of the Sunamganj Jela Welfare Association UK, Ali was also appointed Acting President of the Association, taking over from Iqbal Hossain, who is relocating to Bangladesh long term.
For at least three decades Ali has been involved in community welfare. A celebrated football player, he was a Founder Member of Sonali Othith UK. He served as Founder Secretary from 2001-2003 and President from 2003-2005.
He is a former President of DIYG, 1989, and former Secretary of YMO, 1985. The former youth coach is a former committee member of the BFA and is the current Chair of the Youth Development Committee, Darul Ummah.
Speaking on his appointment Ali said, “It’s a great honour to be chosen for two such senior roles and I will fully endeavour to work with the community to achieve positive outcomes.”
