THE VICTIM, a 28 year old man, is now fighting for his life in an East London hospital – suffering from stab wounds which have caused life-threatening injuries.
He was found a week ago: it was just after 7.30am on 12th July when reports came in to the emergency services that a man had been stabbed in Barking Road, near the junction with Ordnance Road, E16.
The suspect is just a teenager: a 15 year old boy, who has been charged with attempted murder. He has appeared at Stratford Youth Court, where he was remanded and ordered to appear at the Old Bailey for a pre-trial hearing on 15th August.
The suspect handed himself in to an East London police station three days after the stabbing – the day after police released images of two people they wanted to speak to in connection with the stabbing. Police are continuing with their investigation into the involvement of a second male in the incident.
•Anyone who saw the stabbing or was in the area at the time or has any information which could help police is asked to telephone police officers from the North East Command Unit via 101 and quote the reference CAD 1694/12Jul.
