Christmas support campaign for homeless

NEWARK YOUTH LONDON, in partnership with JustSmiles, has launched a Christmas Smiles campaign to help those sleeping rough during the festive season. Meghna Uddin of Newark Youth London has been co-ordinating a fundraiser which has involved bringing together a group of restaurants to support with fundraising. 

Newark Youth London were prominent in supporting a similar and much acclaimed Eid Smiles campaign earlier in the year, which was launched at the House of Lords.

The involvement of young people from Newark Youth London has been an important feature of the campaign and focussed on enhancing the youngsters’ understanding of community matters and social social responsibility.

Uddin said, “Depending on how much we raise we will plan distribution through local churches and community centres as well as going out on the streets with our team and some young people from Newark Youth London. We are also working to go out for distribution of aid with the restaurant owners in their respected areas and localities.”
