Firefighters run for Grenfell children

FROM one of the first fire crews to arrive at Grenfell Tower are to run in the London Marathon in order to raise money for children who suffered when the Kensington tower block was gutted by fire last year.

The firefighters hope to raise £10,000 for Kids on the Green, which was set up by Zoe LeVack after the dreadful fire. The organisation provides free counselling to children as well as entertainment and therapeutic activities. Ms LeVack was delighted by the news, saysing, “What an honour and how humbled we are that these heroes of ours are running the Marathon for us at Kids on the Green.”

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, firefighter David Badillo said, “The heartbreak will never go away but we want to help heal and rebuild, starting with the children so badly affected by the tragedy.”
