Ilford murder victim named

A WOMAN WHO was found fatally stabbed in Norfolk Road, Ilford on 3rd January has been named. She is Elizabeta Lacatusu, 44, a Romanian national who was living in Ilford. Ms Lacatusu was formally identified on 9th January.

Genu Armeanu, 45, was charged with murdering her on 4th January. He appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on the following day and was remanded in custody. He appeared at the Old Bailey on 8th January, where he was remanded in custody until his trial, which will begin at the Old Bailey on 18th June.
