Inquest scheduled after tragic deaths on Isle of Dogs

A MOTHER and her child were found dead at their home in Lockesfield Place on the Isle of Dogs on 13th August. Now an inquest into their deaths has been set for 16th December at Poplar Coroners’ Court.

The victims have been named as Yulia Gokcedag, 35, and Timur Gokcedag, 7. A post mortem found that Yulia died from hanging and Timur from drowning.

The pair were reported missing on 12th August. As part of their investigation into this report, police officers attended their home. The officers forced an entry and found the two, who were both unresponsive. The two were later pronounced dead at the scene.

The police investigation is continuing, but police have said that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
