Ahead of National Apprenticeship Week (9-13th March), Keepmoat, one of four contractors working with Tower Hamlets Homes on their Decent Homes programme, is pledging to support over 400 apprentices across the UK over the next 12 months. A firm supporter of apprenticeship schemes for the construction and regeneration development industry, last year Keepmoat helped more than 300 people across the UK, including 20 people in Tower Hamlets, gain experience and skills through its apprenticeships.
Educating young and older adults about the different career paths within the building and construction sector, Keepmoat offers professional training for roles such as estimators, resident liaison officers and quantity surveyors, as well as the more traditional construction trades. In addition to supporting hundreds of apprentices last year, Keepmoat also hosted more than 480 national work placements, 21 of which were based in Tower Hamlets.
Ruhul Amin, who is gaining experience as an apprentice Resident Liaison Officer at Keepmoat’s Bentworth Court development, said, “My role at Bentworth Court involves liaising with residents to ensure they are up to date on progess with the project. As an Apprentice Resident Liaison Officer I also deal with issues and queries residents may have as well as working closely with the site manager. My training has really helped me to build excellent practical and theoretical knowledge.”
