LEA students beat international cricketers

Muhi Mikdad

PUPILS AT THE London Enterprise Academy in Tower Hamlets had the privilege – and pleasure – of meeting three international cricketers on Thursday, 30th June.

The cricketers play in Bangladesh’s national test squad. They are: Mohammed Ashraful (former captain); Tanbir Hayder (all-rounder); and Mohammed Enamul Haque Jr (spin bowler).  The pupils enjoyed learning about their passions, the travel which cricket has made possible for them, the discipline needed to be an international player – and their celebrity lifestyles.

Sadly there was no space in the schedule for a school/celebrity Test Match that day – but this did not stop the enterprising students, who challenged their visitors to a game of table tennis. This was a challenge too far for the cricketers, and the students emerged victorious!
