Man robbed while parked in Bow

A LOCAL CLOTHES RETAILER was sat in his parked car in Ford Close, Bow, E3 at 5.30pm on Monday, 15th January – when two men, wearing balaclavas, robbed him.

The victim, 24, was dragged out of his car. One of the suspects demanded his wrist watch and the other grabbed a bag, which contained £500 in cash, from the car. The two suspects then ran off. They got into a black Audi A4 and drove off towards Roman Road. The police later discovered that the vehicle was displaying false number plates.

PC Andrew Hillier, investigating officer from Tower Hamlets CID, said, “This is a nasty attack on a local businessman who was robbed of his takings after he finished work. I am appealing to anyone who can assist this investigation to come forward and speak to police – these are violent men who need to be arrested.”

Police have now released CCTV, which may jog public memories.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tower Hamlets CID on 020-8217 4143. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
