Mile End shooting: update

TWO YOUNG MEN were shot outside Mile End Tube Station late last night, 23rd March. Both were in their 20s and were shot as passengers walked past, going in and out of the Tube station.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.30pm. The emergency services – including armed police – were quickly on the scene. The Tube station was closed – as was the road, with traffic tailbacks quickly building up.

The London Ambulance Service took both victims to hospital. It appears that fortunately neither man has suffered critical injury: both are stable and continuing to receive treatment.

The incident is being investigated by the Trident and Area Crime Command – which has asked for any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any other information about it should contact the Trident and Area Crime Command via 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
