Pedestrian fights for life after A406 collision

POLICE ARE appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A406 which occurred a few minutes before 9pm on Friday, 13th September. The collision occurred at the junction with Walthamstow Avenue, just before the turn off for Chingford.

A pedestrian was hit by a car. She was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital, where she remains in a life threatening condition. Police are trying to identify the victim, whom they believe is in her 40s, and inform her next of kin.

Anyone who saw the collision or has any information about it is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020-8597 4874 or via 101.
