Stabbed teen OK as Newham cadets join anti-knife crime gala

POLICE ARE investigating a stabbing which occurred at approximately 5pm in Tollgate Road, E16 yesterday, 12th May. A 17 year old man was injured, but fortunately his injuries have been declared not life threatening.

Police are investigating the crime and believe that the attacker may have travelled to Tollgate Road by moped. They ask that anyone who saw the incident, was in the area at the time or has any other information about it ring the police via 101 and quote reference 5022/12May.

The stabbing came a day after police cadets attended a Gala evening against knife crime and other forms of violence among young people. The Metropolitan Police praised them for the positive image of young people which the cadets put forward.

Local dignitaries were present at the Gala, including local MPs Stephen Timms and Lyn Brown, Newham Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz and GLA member Unmesh Desai.
