Teams gear up for Bangladesh District Cup 2022

THE ISLAMI BANK Bangladesh District Cup 2022 will commence on Tuesday, 6th September 2022 at Seven Kings Park, 21 Epsom Road, IG3 8QP. Twelve teams will go head to head in a battle to be crowned Bangladesh District champions. 

The pioneering sporting spectacle brings together some of the finest Bangladeshi heritage cricketers in the world, and the sports festival will be played over three days this year. Three teams in four groups will play each other with the first placed squads proceeding to the last four.

Speaking after the official team kit launch at the Mayfair Venue, Jawar Ali, Director of the Essex County Cricket Board, said, “Once again we are faced with the mouth-watering prospect of top-quality cricket at Seven Kings. This is a spectacle which will attract attention from all over the world and will shine a very positive light on our community. We wish all teams well. This will be a great opportunity to use cricket as a vehicle for positivity.”

Shahidul Alam Ratan, Chairm of Capital Kids Cricket, added, “This tournament is getting stronger every year. It is about great cricket whilst also celebrating our heritage. We wish all teams good luck and invite the community to come and support us. It will be another memorable few days of success, achievement and celebration.”

The group stages of the Islami Bank Bangladesh District Cup will be played on 6th and 7th September with the semi-finals and final on Saturday, 10th September.
