The Local Landmarks 10k returns for 2023

GET READY to discover the grand and quirky sites hidden in your locality as the Local Landmarks 10k returns on 19th February. Map your own 10k route around your area, register – and run.

Here are three good reasons to take part in the Local Landmarks 10k.
It’s the perfect motivation to kick start your running in 2023: whether you walk, jog or run, exploring your local area will help you keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Perhaps you’re returning to running after some time off – if so, the shiny golden medal for reaching the 10k milestone is a great motivator.
If you’re training for the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April, this 10k is perfect as part of your training programme. By February you should be able to breeze 10k ahead of the 13.1 miles (that’s 21k) in April.

The Local Landmarks 10k is the brainchild of Tommy’s, who also organise the award-winning London Landmarks Half Marathon and, new for 2023, the London Landmarks Skyscraper Challenge, to benefit the entire charity sector. Over 3,000 runners took place in the inaugural Local Landmarks in 2022 raising £70,000 for Tommy’s. All profits from the Landmarks 10k will be donated to Tommy’s, the UK’s largest pregnancy and baby loss charity, to fund their pioneering research.

Lia Fyles, Race Director said, “Not everyone can take part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon. The distance can be daunting for some, especially if they are new to running or perhaps building up their fitness. The Local Landmarks embodies the same fun, inclusive spirit of the LLHM. Last year’s event showed that the shorter distance that people could walk, run or wheelchair really captured people’s imagination. I loved seeing everyone’s pictures of them taking part in the Local Landmarks, and how creative people got with mapping their 10k routes around their local area. I can’t wait to see where people run to this year!”

The Local Landmarks 10k on 19th February is open to everyone of all ages and abilities from across the globe. Registration is £17.50. All registered runners who complete the challenge will receive an exclusive collectible medal, their very own golden telephone box – a historical landmark in its own right!
