THE NUMBER OF victims killed as a result of domestic violence reached a five year high last September – and around 75% of those victims are thought to be women. Last month we learned that the number of women murder victims had risen 10% in a year. And these women are real people, loved and mourned – not just cold statistics.
“Goodbye Mary Jane Mustafa. Honoured to be invited to speak before your final journey from Shacklewell Lane Mosque. We must not allow murder of women to be passing headlines. Mary Jane was found in a freezer in Custom House last year and finally released to her family last week .”
