Tower Hamlets drugs op: three more jailed

THREE MORE young men have been jailed for offences related to the supply of illegal drugs – bringing the total number jailed after the “Operation Continuum” operation to 27.

A total of 50 people have been charged as a result of the four month investigation into dealing in Whitechapel, with 33 of them having pleaded guilty to their charges. Ten men have been charged and have pleaded not guilty. Their cases will be tried later in the year.

The three jailed at the end of August are listed below.

3 Salikul IslamSalikul Islam, 22, of Singlewell Road, Gravesend, was sentenced to two years and four months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty on 7th June to two counts of the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

3 Taukir AhmedTaukir Ahmed, 21, of Ernest Street, Tower Hamlets, was sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty on 26th July to the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

3 Muhammad Ali HasanMuhammed Ali Hasan, 25, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty on 31st August to the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

A further six men will be sentenced on 27th September.

Mahmudur Hassan, 23, of Clearbrook Way, Tower Hamlets, who pleaded guilty on 11th July to the supply of crack cocaine and heroin and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Atefur Rahman, 18, of Beadnell House, Cable Street, Tower Hamlets, who pleaded guilty on 14th June to the supply of crack cocaine and the supply of heroin.

Mohammed Sherwaan Chowdhury, 18, of Sidney Street, Tower Hamlets, who pleaded guilty on 8th June to the supply of crack cocaine, the supply of heroin and possession of criminal property.

Dilshad Chowdhury, 47, of Brady Street, Tower Hamlets, who pleaded guilty on 19th July to the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

Ruhel Hussain, 18, of Smithfield Court, Cable Street, Tower Hamlets, who pleaded guilty on 26th July to the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

Konstantinos Tsoukanas, 36, of Old Montague Street, Tower Hamlets, who pleaded guilty on 18th July to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.
