Aklakur Rahman: wanted for questioning

Westfield watch suspect identified, but not found

WHERE IS Aklakur Rahman? The 32 year old is wanted by the police for questioning in connection with an incident in the Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford.

The incident happened in January. A man went into a jeweller’s shop and asked to see a watch which had a price tag of over £10,000. When the watch was produced, the man punched the sales assistant in the face, grabbed the watch – and fled. The sales assistant has made a recovery from his physical injuries.

In July, police circulated CCTV images of the alleged assailant. He has now been provisionally identified as Aklakur Rahman, who is known to spend time in Stratford and more generally in Newham.

Police advise anyone who sees Rahman not to approach him but to call the police immediately via 999.

Anyone who knows Rahman’s whereabouts is asked to speak to detectives from the Flying Squad by phoning 101 and quoting reference CAD 5149/6Jan18. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
