CROWDER STREET, E1 was the location of a flat where police found the body of a woman early on Friday afternoon, 26th April. She is believed to have been the resident of the flat.
Staff from the London Ambulance Service joined the police at the flat and, sadly, the women was formally declared deceased. A post mortem, to establish the cause of death, is awaited and police are now trying to trace the woman’s next of kin so that formal identification can be made.
Police are treating the death as murder and officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating. One arrest has already been made. A 37 year old man was arrested in north London, shortly after the body was found, on suspicion of murder. Police have confirmed that no one else is being sought in connection with the death.
