Gun crime hits luxury flats on Isle of Dogs

POLICE CONTINUE to seek three men in connection with an incident in a restaurant in Pan Peninsula Square, E14 – one of the developments of luxury flats on the Isle of Dogs.

The incident occurred just after 11pm on Saturday, 5th June.  Three men came into the restaurant and went up to three women who were in there. One of the men pointed a handgun at the women and two of the women were assaulted. The men then made off in the direction of South Quay DLR station.

The incident seems to have been over very quickly, with little time for those present to have a good look at the attackers.  They are described as black – beyond which, no information has been released. The man who flourished the gun was described as wearing a grey hooded tracksuit and a balaclava.

Detective Sergeant Richard Bunce, from Central East CID, which covers Tower Hamlets, said, “While no one was seriously injured, this was a shocking incident that will have understandably traumatised those involved. The restaurant was busy at the time and I would ask anyone who witnessed the events, or who captured film or images on their phone, to contact police immediately. These men showed no regard for the safety of anyone inside the venue and they need to be apprehended.”

Anyone who has any information which may assist the investigation is asked to telephone police via 101 and quote reference CAD 8335/5Jun.
