TWO MEN convicted of involvement in the killing of Raja Ali of Dagenham back in 2016 returned to the Old Bailey last week for sentencing.
Haziq Raza, 24, of Meath Road, Ilford and Navarda Rhooma, 26, of Eton Road, Ilford were both sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment for manslaughter, as well as three years’ imprisonment (to run concurrently) for violent disorder.
The sentencing comes almost exactly a year after two other men had been found guilty of manslaughter and violent disorder arising out of the death of Raja Ali, 33, who died after being set upon by a group of people in Dagenham in September 2016.
The killers beat Ali with various weapons, as well as administering the ultimately fatal stab wounds. At the time of the first round of convictions, police said that they would keep the investigation going until all those involved had been brought to justice.
