ANOTHER STABBING victim lost his life in East London over the weekend – at 28 years of age. He was stabbed late on Saturday night, 29th June. His next of kin are aware, but no formal identification has yet been made.
Reports came in to police just after 11pm that a man was injured in Ron Leighton Way – at the corner with Wakefield Street, East Ham, E6. Sadly the victim died at the scene. Police immediately began a murder investigation. A post mortem will take place shortly.
In an unusual development, a 23 year old man went into an East London police station and handed himself in. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and is now in custody, while the Homicide and Major Crime Command investigates.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Kirk, who is leading the investigation, said, “Although we have made an arrest, I am still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information or footage. Please don’t hesitate, make the call.”
