Stabbing at Poplar newsagent

A MAN WAS stabbed at a Poplar newsagent last week. The victim, who was in his 50s, was taken to an East London hospital, but fortunately his injuries were not life-threatening.

The incident occurred at around 8pm on Thursday, 7th January at a newsagent on Pigott Street. A police patrol car was passing through the area and was flagged down and directed to the scene. Officers were able to administer first aid very quickly and were soon joined by other police cars – as well as the London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance. A police investigation into the incident is continuing.
