Who killed Constantin Sin?

ONE ARREST has been made in the hunt for the murderer of Constantin Sin, 51 – but police are still appealing to the public for information which might help them solve this puzzling case.

The arrest was of a man, 56, who was then taken to an East London police station for questioning. It took place on Friday, 10th May – and was made on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Constantin Sin, who was originally from Romania, was one of two pedestrians hit by a car in the early hours of 5th May in High Road, Leytonstone. Police, the London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance attended. The other victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries that were later assessed as not life-threatening. Mr Sin was also taken to an East London hospital – in a critical condition, with injuries which he did not survive. He died in the late afternoon.

Mr Sin’s next of kin have been informed of his death. A post mortem has been carried out, which gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, who is leading the investigation said: “The investigation into Mr Sin’s murder continues apace with a number of live enquiries in hand. At this early stage, it is appears that this was a deliberate act by the driver of the car. There had been an altercation in the street prior to this incident and I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information who has not yet come forward, to contact detectives without delay.”

Anyone who saw the altercation in or around the High Road, saw the collision or who has any information about this matter is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Crime Command incident room on 020-8345 3715. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111 and give information anonymously.
